Inspired by evolution and by mimicry in nature, this piece is intended to partially transform the wearer into something more than human. The piece consists of 21 sterling silver links hinged in a line, each holding the quill of a peacock feather. Each quill, stripped of its colorful plumage, has a beautiful form and a subtle gradation in color along one side, evolutionary marvels that go unnoticed beneath the dazzling colors for which the peacock is known. The piece is held on by snaps which pinch the fabric of the wearer's clothing at the back of the neck. Sterling Silver, Peacock Feather Quills 21"x24"x3/8" 2014

Rings
Created primarily as an exploration of form, this pair of sculptural rings are hollow-constructed out of sterling silver and shibuichi, an alloy which I made for this piece. The curved silver which forms the top of this ring was formed from a single sheet of silver, a technical challenge in exploiting the nature of the material to create this compound curve. The forms of these rings were influenced by tool forms and mathematical functions. Sterling Silver, Shibuichi 2.25"x.75"x2.75" 2013

The “stone” in the wire-frame ring is another hollow form, also made of shibuichi, which is hand-threaded and screws into place. Vessels
Copper vessels angle raised from flat discs and planished over pitch. These vessels are designed to be held. The edges and coloration developed naturally during the process of annealing and raising. (Diameter x Height) 1.75"x2.75"; 2.75"x2.25"; 2.25"x3" 2014

Boxes
Made using my own die and a hydraulic press, this series gave me a chance to play with closure mechanisms, juxtaposition of material, and variation on common theme, mimicking the variation found among closely related organisms. In addition to the hydraulic press, processes used include fabrication, forging, scoring and bending, and riveting. Brass, Copper, Sterling Silver Varying dimensions: 1.25"x1" legged boxes stand at around 6" and 7" 2014
